The Brides Boutique is celebrating our 10 year anniversary this month and we are hosting a huge celebration at our store located at 329-M Warfield Blvd. on Tuesday, September 22 from 4-7 pm.

This will be an open house where brides can shop not only for their wedding gown but also meet with some of the wedding vendors that the owners of The Brides Boutiuqe has worked very closely with over our ten years of business.

Brides - stop in, have a piece of cake and mingle with some of the best local wedding pros. We had an AMAZING photo shoot with Shea (www.byshea.com ) and I cannot wait to post the pictures! They are absolutley stunning The shoot was designed for the featured gowns section on the Clarksville Brides website (www.clarksvillebrides.com). Danielle from Turning Point Productions (www.turningpointproduction.com) joined us and filmed behind the scenes for a fun and different look for the section. Thank you Shea and Danielle! I would also like to thank our beautiful models, Sarah, Larsa, Lindsey, and Imaini. It was a hot sunny day, and the elements around them were not so "glamorous". Oh and I can't forget, I need to send a shout out to Clarksville's #1 Rock-N-Roll bar (The Warehouse) for allowing us to shoot at their establishment. You guys ROCK!

As you have probably seen we have re-vamped the website to be more with the times. Along with the changes to the site have come some much needed upating to the inside of the store. So we had a fun photo shoot a few weeks ago with Joanie Evans at Joan of Art Photography. We shot at a private farm out in Adams on a very cold and windy day. Our models were absolutely awesome(looks and endurance of the circumstances). Here is a little of what we did. So for those of you who have dropped by our website have probably noticed it is outdated and some of the links are down on the designers. Well, coming soon we will have a up to date site with amazing images. Edith and I spent the day yesterday with Joan Evans , Joan of Art Photograpghy, and some amazingly beautiful models. We shot on a private farm out in Adams,TN. It was quite cold and very windy but I am sure the pictures will be GREAT! Our models were great sports, and we are very appreciative for their time and willingness to do anything we asked. We also want to thank Joan for her "eye" and her camera. This is Casablanca Bridals style 1922. Our sample is a size 6 and is in Platinum. We are of course able to order any size and White , Ivory, Diamond White, Champagne and Gold.

This is style 48241 by Forever Yours Bridal from their coture division. Our sample is a size 8 and is Ivory. The gown also is offered in white and champagne.

Are you ready to go wedding dress shopping?
If the answer is "YES!"

How soon should you start to shop for your dress?

We suggest a minimum of at least 6 months prior to the wedding as being the ideal time frame to start. Why so much time? Wedding gowns if special ordered are not hanging in the designers warehouse they are put in to production at the time the order is placed. Most designers have a turnaround time of 3-4 months. If your gown is ordered 6 months prior to your wedding you should have it within 6-8 weeks of the big day. This allows time for alterations.

Before going wedding dress shopping you should consider these first steps . . .
Start with a budget for you gown and accessories. One tip we give you is also figure in alterations to the budget as well. Also look at pictures of wedding dresses online and in bridal magazines. Your perfect bridal dress should be a style that will flatter your figure. It will also compliment your coloring, personality and wedding style.

The best word of advice we have to offer is to try on all different necklines and fabrics. Never rule out a dress before trying it on. There is a large percentage of brides who fell in love a dress they didn't find appealing on the rack. I like to say "the ugliest dresses on the rack look the best on the body."

What if you have less than six months for wedding dress shopping . . .

Have no fear we can take care of you no matter what the time frame may be. We are able to offer sample dresses of the rack and some are able to be rushed. When time is close and we have to rush a dress there are additional fees that are applied to the sale. Though not the ideal situation, we have had a bride come in purchase a dress 45 minutes before her ceremony and she walked out with it altered. Of course they were minimal alterations.
